What is Teleterapy?

Teletherapy aka on-line/video counseling or telehealth is instead of in-person, you can receive therapy/counseling from your preferred location as long as it is secure, quiet and has a good access to internet.

Benefits of Teletherapy

You can save your time (and money!) to travel to my office.  You can choose your location where you feel comfortable in.  If you are sick and/or medically compromised, or there is any reason for not being able to leave where you are, teletherapy will be very handy.  I must say, right now (I am writing this in March 2020), due to the COVID-19/Coronavirus pandemic, it is on demand more than ever.  It is a great option to keep you and others in the community safe.

Possible Challenges of Teletherapy

Internet connection can be disrupted (hence it is important for us to know how to reach each other if it happens).  It can be difficult to read your entire body language since I typically can see only your shoulders and above.  General internet security issues must be considered, although I do use a HIPAA compliant platform.  Please review my "Disclosure and Informed Consent for Teletherapy/Telehealth" under "Form" section on this website for more information.

How to Start Teletherapy?

If you are already seeing me, just let me know your interest!  I will assist you to sign "Disclosure and Informed Consent for Teletherapy/Telehealth", which is available under "Form" section on this website.  You can sign on the PDF file or can download, print, sign, scan and email it back to me at or fax at (253)237-9296.  Or, I can send you an access to my portal to electronically sign it.  Please inquire.

If you have not started working with me yet, again, just let me know!  "Disclosure and Informed Consent for Teletherapy/Telehealth" form will be part of your intake packet to complete.  As of now (March 2020) teletherapy is all I can offer due to the pandemic, however, in general it is just an option.  You can certainly ask for in-person services.

How to Prepare for Teletherapy?

The link below is from Simple Practice, the HIPAA compliant platform that I use for teletherapy.  It does a good job explaining equipments to use, what to expect on the day of the appointment, tips for sucess etc.  If you have any further questions, please feel free to ask me.

We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
